Merrill Place, Phase I
Merrill Place I consists of six substantially rehabbed townhomes near Henry Ford Hospital in the Virginia Park neighborhood. The project has had a positive community impact and offers housing for moderate-income households.

Merrill Place, Phase II
Merrill Place II builds on the success of Merrill Place I with the construction of a new 30-unit mixed income residential development. Groundbreaking occurred on October 9, 2023 and the project’s ribbon cutting ceremony was held on March 5, 2026. Located at 1312 Seward, the new $12 million multi-unit residential building offers 9 one-bedroom units and 18 two-bedroom units. Fourteen of the building’s units are affordable and reserved for households with incomes up to 60% of the area median income. The project also incorporates a geothermal heating and cooling system which provides additional utility affordability to the residents.
